Good Morning Dear

Theyve done something rather special with the choir on this one: it first sings two separate lines from Wrote You A Song/Angeline, which are then developed into the full verses sung at the end.

(G) Yesterday's newspaper forecast
No rain for (Am) today (D7) (G) (G/f#) (G/e) (G/d)
(G) Winter's in labour, it will soon
Give birth to the (Am) spring (D7) (G) (G/f#) (G/e) (G/d)

(G) Were the nights any sweeter?
The morning's any cooler (Am) when she was here
Was her (D7) mind grown accustomed
To hearin', 'Good (G) morning, dear' (G/f#) (G/e) (G/d)

(G) Should I still feel the sunshine
Remembering brings to mind (Am) in my thoughts of her
When (D7) Lord, we both know things
Could never (G) be the way they were (G/f#) (G/e) (G/d)

(G) Her little girl confusion built the walls of illusion
Between (Am) right and wrong
That (D7) stand there between her and a dream
(G) That I cherished too long (G/f#) (G/e) (G/d)

(G) All faded and tattered
Once all that mattered when (Am) she was here
And this (D7) mind had grown accustomed
To hearing, (G) 'Good mornin', dear' (G/f#) (G/e) (G/d)

(G) Were the night's any sweeter
The morning's any cooler (Am) when she was here
(D7) Or was her mind grown accustomed
To hearing, 'Good (G) morning, dear' (Am)

(G) Should I still feel the (Em) sunshine
Yesterdays newspaper forecast
Remembering brings to (Am) mind in my thoughts of her
No rain for today
(D7) Lord, we both know things
Yesterday's news is old news
Could never be the (G) way they were
The skies are all grey

(G) Were the nights any sweeter?
Winter's in labour it soon
The morning's any cooler (Am) when she was here
Will give give birth to the spring
Was her (D7) mind grown accustomed
And sprinkle the meadows with flowers
(To hearin', 'Good (G) morning, dear'
For sweet Angeline)
